Please tell me about this dime

I found a dime dated "1836". It has Lady Liberty on one side, arched by 13 stars. On the other side is an eagle with a shield, clutching 3 arrows and some sort of plant (or vine?). At the bottom it says "10 C."

I'm curious what this coin is called. I'm surprised to find a coin this old, given how many have been melted.

Thank you!

Mine is very worn, but still, it is interesting to see and hold.
